The development of ‘Domino Dan’™ has 2 essential roots, personal and professional.

 

Personally as an involved father, raising 2 boys with all the perils of the modern age, I wanted to make sure I formed a strong lasting bond with them. The reason for this, is perhaps obvious but I’ll expand more on this under point 2.

 

Now, as well as wanting to form a strong bond with my children, I also wanted to lay the foundation of good health, without going on or being to preachy about it. Specifically I wanted my children to know the ‘benefits’ of the foods they ate. If they wanted: good hair, teeth, eyes, skin, energy etc, the foods they (we all) eat, could deliver that. Providing my children with this knowledge in a fun way, early in their lives, I was looking to ensure they would have the information needed to make smart food choices throughout their life. 

 

The second path to the development of ‘Domino Dan’™ was professional. Social work qualified I have been working with children and families, in various settings for a number of years. 

 

This experience, of working with troubled families, led me to the understanding that one of the best ways to protect our children, is through a strong connection to the home. In all families, fun through game play is the ideal way to achieve this. Involving: eye contact, smiles, teasing and an irresistible opportunity to get one over on mum, dad or carer, games are great for forming strong relational ties.
